Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan reached a remarkable milestone on Friday during the ongoing third Test against England in Rawalpindi. Playing his 57th Test innings, Rizwan surpassed 2,000 runs in the format, becoming the fifth Pakistani wicketkeeper to achieve this landmark.

Rizwan joins an elite group of Pakistani wicketkeepers, including Sarfaraz Ahmed, Kamran Akmal, Moin Khan, and Imtiaz Ahmed. Currently, Sarfaraz Ahmed holds the record for the most runs by a Pakistani wicketkeeper with 3,031.

  • Kamran Akmal – 2,648 runs

Despite the milestone, Rizwan couldn’t contribute extensively to Pakistan’s score on Day 2, as he was dismissed by Rehan Ahmed after scoring 25 runs off 46 balls, including a six and a four. Pakistan currently stands at 251-7 in their first innings, trailing by only 16 runs, with Saud Shakeel at 104 and Noman Ali at 38, forming an unbeaten 74-run partnership.
