In a dominant performance, New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 54 runs in the 19th match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup at Dubai International Stadium. Pakistan, chasing a target of 111 runs, struggled immensely and was bowled out for a mere 56 runs, ending their hopes of reaching the semi-finals.

The Pakistani batters found themselves in trouble from the start, with six wickets falling within the first 10 overs. Captain Fatima Sana (21 off 23) and Muneeba Ali (15 off 11) were the only players to reach double digits.

Meanwhile, New Zealand’s bowlers, led by Amelia Kerr’s three wickets and Eden Carson’s two-wicket haul, made quick work of Pakistan’s lineup, with Rosemary Mair, Lea Tahuhu, and Fran Jones taking a wicket each.

Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and chose to bat, posting a modest total of 110 runs for the loss of six wickets. Suzie Bates top-scored for the Kiwis with 28 runs, supported by Brooke Halliday (22) and Sophie Devine (19).

Pakistani bowlers put up a commendable effort, with Nashra Sandhu taking 3 for 18, while Omaima Sohail, Nida Dar, and Sadia Iqbal each claimed one wicket.

This loss eliminates Pakistan from the competition, while New Zealand advances to the next stage. Despite a valiant effort to restrict New Zealand’s score, Pakistan’s batters were unable to capitalize, marking a disappointing exit from the tournament.
