The decision regarding the future of the 2025 Champions Trophy has been further delayed. According to details, the International Cricket Council (ICC) board meeting scheduled for today will not take place.

The meeting is now expected to be held either tomorrow (Sunday) or the day after (Monday).

Sources suggest that discussions regarding the Champions Trophy are still ongoing within the ICC. Both the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are said to require more time to consult with their respective Ministries of Foreign Affairs.

It is also reported that the Indian Cricket Board is seeking additional time for consultations with its Ministry of External Affairs.

In a related development, during a brief 10 to 15-minute meeting held yesterday, Pakistan rejected the proposal of a hybrid model for the tournament. PCB officials stated that there was no solid reason for adopting such a model.

The PCB further emphasized that Pakistan is fully prepared to host the Champions Trophy and is ready to move forward with the tournament.

This ongoing delay reflects the complexity of the discussions and the need for further diplomatic consultations before a final decision is made.
