Australia secured a thrilling 13-run victory over Pakistan at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday, clinching the three-match T20I series 2-0. Spencer Johnson starred with both bat and ball, taking 5-26 and scoring a quickfire 32 off 17 deliveries.

Set a target of 148, Pakistan faltered, getting bowled out for 134. Usman Khan led the chase with a fighting 52 off 38 balls, but his dismissal triggered a collapse. Irfan Khan remained unbeaten on 37 off 28, showcasing resilience, but Pakistan’s frequent loss of wickets sealed their fate.

Captain Babar Azam, returning to open alongside Mohammad Rizwan, struggled to make an impact and was dismissed by Xavier Bartlett after a run-a-ball start. Rizwan faced difficulty under pressure, managing just 16 off 26 before falling to Johnson.

Earlier, Australia’s batting effort was anchored by Short’s brisk 32 off 17. Contributions from Aaron Hardie (28), Glenn Maxwell (21), and Tim David (18) helped the hosts post 147. Haris Rauf impressed with four wickets, while Shaheen Afridi picked up three, conceding just 17 runs.
