Gwadar to Host HBL PSL 10 Player Draft

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced that the 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Player Draft will be held in the port city of Gwadar, Balochistan.

The event, which marks the official start of the HBL PSL festivities, is scheduled for Saturday, 11 January 2025. The precise timing of the event will be shared later.

The decision to host the draft in Gwadar is aimed at promoting cricket in the region and inspiring the younger generation of Balochistan to pursue cricket as a professional career.

PCB Chair Mohsin Naqvi expressed his excitement, highlighting Gwadar’s stunning coastline and strategic importance.

He emphasized that by holding the Player Draft in this city, the PCB aims to emphasize the region’s cultural and economic significance, while also celebrating how cricket unites the nation. Naqvi also noted that the event would be an exciting start to the 10th edition of Pakistan’s biggest sporting extravaganza.

Salman Naseer, CEO of HBL PSL, also shared his pride in selecting Gwadar as the host city for the Player Draft. He emphasized that the move reflects the league’s commitment to bringing the HBL PSL closer to every part of Pakistan and showcasing the beauty of the country.

Naseer described the PSL as more than just a cricket league, but a celebration of Pakistan’s passion, diversity, and talent, and mentioned that the event in Gwadar will inspire young cricketers from Balochistan and beyond to aim high.

Further details regarding player relegation and retention will be announced by the end of December.
