The upcoming Boxing Day Test between India and Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is set to make history, with all tickets for Day One already sold out.

Scheduled for December 26, this fourth match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy promises a thrilling contest between two cricketing powerhouses.

For the first time in Boxing Day Test history outside the Ashes series, over 86,000 fans are expected to attend on the opening day. The MCG, which can accommodate nearly 100,000 spectators, is gearing up for an electric atmosphere.

The ongoing series has already shattered attendance records. The Adelaide Oval drew over 36,000 fans on Day One of the second Test, setting a 12-year venue record.

The Perth opener saw a total attendance of 96,463, the second-highest in the city’s history and the largest ever at Perth Stadium.

The series stands tied at 1-1. India, led by Jasprit Bumrah, claimed a commanding 295-run victory in the first Test in Perth. Australia, under Pat Cummins, roared back with a 10 wicket win in Adelaide, wrapping up the match within three days.

As fans eagerly await the MCG showdown, the historic crowd turnout underscores the excitement surrounding this fierce rivalry.
