Komal Khan to Lead Team in U19 Women’s T20 World Cup

The Women’s National Selection Committee has finalized a 15-member squad for Pakistan’s participation in the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025, scheduled from January 18 to February 2 in Malaysia.

Wicketkeeper-batter Komal Khan will lead the team, with Zoofishan Ayyaz serving as vice-captain. The squad includes:

Komal Khan (captain, wicketkeeper) (Lahore), Zoofishan Ayyaz (vice-captain) (Wah Cantt), Aleesa Mukhtiar (Muzaffargarh), Areesha Ansari (Kasur), Fatima Khan (Lahore), Haniah Ahmer (Karachi), Maham Anees (Islamabad), Mahnoor Zeb (Mardan), Memoona Khalid (Lahore), Minahil (Faisalabad), Quratulain (Sialkot), Ravail Farhan (Lahore), Shahar Bano (Lodhran), Tayyaba Imdad (Abbottabad), and Wasifa Hussain (Karachi).

The team recently competed in the ACC U19 Women’s Asia Cup in Malaysia and will hold a training camp from December 31 to January 9 at the Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre in Karachi. Departure for Malaysia is scheduled for January 10 via Dubai.

Tournament Details:
The 16-team competition is divided into four groups, each consisting of four teams. Pakistan, placed in Group B, will face the USA on January 18, England on January 20, and Ireland on January 22 at the JCA Oval in Johor.

The top three teams from each group will advance to the Super Six stage, with the remaining teams entering playoff matches. The Super Six will be divided into two groups, where teams carry forward their points, wins, and Net Run Rate (NRR) from group stage results.

Following the Super Six matches, the top two teams from each group will proceed to the semi-finals on January 31, while the final will take place at Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur, on February 2.
