Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi celebrated the incredible victory of Pakistan’s blind cricket team, who clinched the T20 Blind Cricket World Cup title.
At a ceremony at the National Cricket Academy, Naqvi awarded the team a PKR 10 million cash prize and announced an additional PKR 20 million grant for the Pakistan Blind Cricket Association (PBCA).
Speaking to the players and guests, Naqvi praised the team’s dedication and congratulated them for bringing pride to Pakistan. “This victory is a monumental achievement for Pakistan. You have illuminated our nation’s name globally, and the entire country takes pride in your success,” he said.
He also commended the leadership of team captain Nisar Ali and PBCA Chairman Sultan Shah, acknowledging their roles in the team’s success.
Naqvi assured continued PCB support to the blind cricket team, pledging resources to help them excel further. “The blind cricket team is a source of immense pride for us, and we will provide all possible assistance to help you achieve more historic feats,” he added.
Team captain Nisar Ali expressed gratitude, saying, “We deeply appreciate the respect and acknowledgment given to us. This support strengthens our resolve to achieve more for Pakistan.”
PBCA Chairman Sultan Shah thanked Naqvi, highlighting that the grant would improve blind cricket infrastructure and pave the way for more victories.
The ceremony marked a moment of national pride and reinforced the PCB’s commitment to fostering inclusive sports in Pakistan.
