The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is gearing up for its 10th edition, with the player draft scheduled to take place on January 11, 2025. The official promo for the draft features the tagline “PSL Player Draft 11.1,” confirming the date.

This year’s PSL season will run between early April and mid-May due to the Champions Trophy 2025, which is set to take place in February-March.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to proceed with these dates, even if they overlap with the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Shifting the PSL to the IPL window has its advantages. With no international fixtures during this period, foreign players will likely be available for the entire season, enhancing the league’s competitiveness and appeal.

Sources reveal that another PSL meeting will be held this week to finalize details. Additionally, the registration process for local and international players is expected to kick off in the coming days.

While specific details regarding player availability remain unclear, it is anticipated that the draft will include international players who were unsold in the IPL auction.

Notable players like David Warner, Kane Williamson, Akeal Hosein, Jonny Bairstow, Adil Rashid, and Keshav Maharaj, who didn’t secure IPL contracts this year, could potentially be part of the PSL draft.

The upcoming season promises exciting cricket action and an opportunity for fans to witness some of the world’s best players in action as the PSL enters its landmark 10th edition.
