Pakistan’s star batter Fakhar Zaman is expected to be included in the squad for the Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled from February 19 to March 9 in Pakistan and the UAE.

As teams finalize their squads, reports indicate Pakistan is aiming for a balanced lineup featuring seven batsmen, four fast bowlers, three spinners, and one wicketkeeper. Mohammad Rizwan is likely to take the role of the sole wicketkeeper in the team.

Fakhar, aged 34, has played 82 ODIs for Pakistan but has been out of recent international tours, including those to Australia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.

However, his performance in the recent Champions T20 tournament has revived his chances. Fakhar scored 303 runs in ten matches, averaging 30.30, with two half-centuries showcasing his ability to contribute significantly.

While his inclusion depends on meeting fitness requirements under his central contract with the Pakistan Cricket Board, fans are hopeful for his return to strengthen Pakistan’s top order as the defending champions gear up for the high-stakes tournament.
