Mitchell Marsh ruled out of ICC Champions Trophy 2025
Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of the upcoming ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 due to persistent lower back pain.
The decision was made by the National Selection Panel (NSP) after medical assessments confirmed that his injury had not improved despite rehabilitation efforts.
Marsh has been dealing with back pain in recent weeks, leading to the decision for him to undergo an extended period of rest and recovery. He will now focus on rehabilitation before returning to competitive cricket.
The NSP will soon select a replacement for Marsh in Australia’s squad. Teams are required to submit their final squads by February 12.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to begin on February 19, with host and defending champion Pakistan facing New Zealand in the opening match at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium.
