Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma has expressed his determination to win the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to begin in February across Pakistan and the UAE.

Speaking at the Wankhede Stadium’s 50th-anniversary celebrations, Sharma shared his vision of bringing the trophy back to Mumbai for a grand fan parade.

“We will try our best (to win the Champions Trophy). I’m sure that the wishes of 140 crore Indians will be behind us when we land in Dubai for the Champions Trophy. We will try to do well and bring the Champions Trophy 2025 to the Wankhede Stadium (once we win),” Rohit said

The event, held on January 19, featured cricket legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, and Ravi Shastri, celebrating the iconic stadium’s history.

India has a storied history in the Champions Trophy, including sharing the 2002 title with Sri Lanka and winning outright in 2013 under MS Dhoni. However, in 2017, India lost the final to Pakistan, marking their first ICC defeat against their arch-rivals.
