Asia Cup Super-Four: India beat Bangladesh by 41 runs, Qualify for finals
DUBAI: India booked their place in the Asia Cup 2025 final after defeating Bangladesh by 41 runs in a Super Four clash at Dubai Cricket Stadium.
Bangladesh, chasing India’s 169-run target, collapsed under pressure and were bowled out for just 127 runs in the final over. Saif Hassan top-scored with a fighting 69 runs, but the rest of the batting lineup failed to deliver. Parvez Hossain Emon made 21, while Towhid Hridoy (7), Mustafizur Rahman (6), Captain Zakir Ali (4), and Mohammad Saifuddin (4) could not build partnerships. Several others fell cheaply, with two players dismissed for ducks.
India’s bowlers dominated the game. Kuldeep Yadav led the attack with three wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy grabbed two each. Axar Patel also chipped in with one wicket.
Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and chose to field. India put up 168 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Opener Abhishek Sharma played a brilliant knock of 75 runs off 37 balls, hitting a half-century for the second time in the tournament. Hardik Pandya added 38, while Shubman Gill contributed 29. Captain Suryakumar Yadav managed only 5, Shivam Dube scored 2, and Tilak Varma made 5 runs. Axar Patel remained not out on 10.
For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain took two wickets, while Saifuddin, Tanzim Hasan, and Mustafizur Rahman claimed one wicket each. With this victory, India secured their spot in the Asia Cup 2025 final and sent a strong warning to their rivals.
