In the first match of the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four stage, Bangladesh secured a thrilling 4-wicket victory over Sri Lanka.

Batting first, Sri Lanka set a target of 169 runs for Bangladesh. Chasing the total, Bangladesh reached the target in the final over, winning on the fifth ball while losing six wickets.

Shakib Al Hasan played a brilliant knock of 61 runs off 45 balls, while Towhid Hridoy contributed 58 runs from 37 deliveries. Liton Das added 23 runs from 16 balls. For Sri Lanka, Wanindu Hasaranga picked up two wickets, and Nuwan Thushara claimed one.

Bangladesh had won the toss and opted to field first. They made two changes in their lineup for the match, while Sri Lanka entered the game with an unchanged squad.
