Andy Pycroft has apologized to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the Pakistan team manager, and the team captain for stopping the captains from shaking hands after the Pakistan vs India match on September 14.

Pycroft, who served as the match referee, had told both captains not to shake hands at the end of the game. This unusual move upset the PCB, which strongly condemned his behavior and called it inappropriate.

In his apology, Pycroft said the incident was the result of a “miscommunication” and was not intentional.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has now agreed to investigate the incident as a possible breach of the Code of Conduct during the match.
