World Athletics Championships: Arshad Nadeem fails to win a medal in final
Tokyo: Pakistan’s star javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem missed out on a medal in the World Athletics Championships final despite a strong effort on Thursday.
Arshad started with a throw of 82.73 meters, placing him seventh. His second attempt was ruled a foul. He improved slightly on his third attempt with a throw of 82.75 meters, but his fourth throw was also declared a foul. As a result, he could not advance to the next stage of the competition.
Meanwhile, Neeraj Chopra of India recorded 83.65 meters on his first throw, while his compatriot Sachin Yadav impressed with an 86.29-meter throw.
According to the start list, Arshad was the third athlete to compete in the final, following Julian Weber from Germany and Anderson Peters from Grenada.
It is worth noting that Arshad had directly qualified for the final from Group B by throwing 85.28 meters in the qualifying round.
