Waqar Younis, one of Pakistan’s greatest cricket legends, has made his mark not only as a star player but also as a coach and mentor who has helped shape the careers of many young cricketers. Even today, he remains deeply connected to the game.

Appearing on the show Hasna Mana Hai, Waqar opened up about the long-standing rumors of cricketers attending late-night parties. He said that every generation of players has faced such allegations, especially when performing abroad. Sharing a lighthearted story from his playing days, Waqar revealed that their captain, Imran Khan, had strictly instructed players to stay in their rooms during tours.

Waqar recalled being roomed with a 75-year-old man who went to sleep by 9 p.m. every night. Once the man was asleep, Waqar would quietly sneak out to enjoy some time with friends. Before returning, he would adjust the room clock so it looked like he came back around 11 p.m., fooling his roommate every time. Laughing at the memory, Waqar admitted that this clever trick allowed him to have fun without breaking team discipline.
