Babar Azam, the captain of Peshawar Zalmi, shared his thoughts after his team’s loss to Multan Sultans in the Qualifier of the ongoing ninth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Thursday in Karachi.

In his post-match remarks, Azam expressed that his team fell short of the par score by about 20 runs while batting first.

“We got a good start but lost wickets in the middle overs. I thought 160-170 was a par score but we couldn’t finish well,” Azam stated after the match.

Additionally, Azam suggested that the outcome might have been different if he had remained on the pitch until the end of the innings.

“They bowled well so I tried to build the innings but I got out early. If I stayed there, maybe it would have been a different ball game,” he further added.

It’s important to note that Multan Sultans convincingly defeated Peshawar Zalmi by seven wickets to qualify for the PSL 2024 final on Thursday.

Mohammad Rizwan’s team has secured a spot in the PSL final for the fourth consecutive time.

Azam’s Zalmi will get another opportunity on March 16 to qualify for the final, facing either Islamabad United or Quetta Gladiators, who will participate in the eliminator today.
