The playoff schedule for the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been finalized, with Multan Sultans securing a 79-run victory over Quetta Gladiators in the final round match at the National Bank Cricket Stadium.

The Sultans, who topped the table, will now face Peshawar Zalmi in Qualifier 1 on March 14, while the Gladiators will compete against Islamabad United in the Eliminator on March 15.

Both the Sultans and Zalmi have two opportunities to advance to the PSL 9 final after finishing in the top two positions on the points table, as the loser of Qualifier 1 will play against the winner of the Eliminator on March 16.

It’s important to note that the Multan Sultans triumphed over the Quetta Gladiators by a margin of 79 runs.

Mohammad Rizwan’s team successfully curtailed the Gladiators’ batsmen by consistently taking wickets while defending a score of 186.

The Gladiators were eventually all out for 106 in the 16th over. For the Sultans, Willey and Usama Mir each took three wickets, while Abbas Afridi claimed two.

Earlier in the match, Mohammad Rizwan and Johnson Charles hit impressive half-centuries, propelling the Multan Sultans to a solid 185/4 after opting to bat first.

Rizwan was the leading run-scorer for the Sultans, scoring 69 runs off 47 balls, which included one four and four sixes. Charles contributed 53 runs off 29 balls, while Iftikhar remained not out with 20 runs off eight balls, hitting two fours and a six.

Mohammad Amir spearheaded the Quetta Gladiators’ bowling attack, taking two wickets but giving away runs, while Abrar, Akeal Hosein, and Mohammad Wasim Jr. each took one wicket.
