French Ligue 1 club Lorient appointed reserve team manager Regis Le Bris as their new manager on Monday.

Le Bris was hired to a three-year term less than twenty-four hours following Christophe Pelissier’s departure.

In a news conference announcing the appointment of the 46-year-old, Lorient president Loic Fery stated that the club had reached “the end of a cycle”

In the 20-team league that Lorient placed 16th in last season, four teams will be relegated and just two will be promoted at the conclusion of the 2022-2023 season.

Pelissier led Lorient back to Ligue 1 for the Covid-shortened 2019-20 season, although the club has narrowly avoided relegation in each of the two seasons since its return.
