LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has submitted the names of its preliminary squad to the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

According to sources, the PCB has forwarded a 15-member provisional squad along with the names of reserve players to the ICC.

The board retains the right to make changes to the squad without ICC approval until January 31. Any changes after this deadline will require approval from the ICC Technical Committee.

Sources further revealed that the PCB plans to formally announce the final squads for the T20 World Cup and the upcoming series against Australia after the conclusion of the series against Sri Lanka.

The decision has been taken to closely assess the performances of one or two players during the Sri Lanka series before finalising the team.

The preliminary list includes players currently touring Sri Lanka, along with senior cricketers Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf.

The ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled to begin on February 7 in India and Sri Lanka. Pakistan will play all of its matches of the tournament in Sri Lanka.
