In one of the biggest matches of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, India continued their winning record against Pakistan with a convincing 61-run victory.

Batting first, India scored 175 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Pakistan, while chasing the target, were bowled out for 114 runs in 18 overs.

Pakistan’s chase got off to a poor start as Sahibzada Farhan was dismissed on the fourth ball of the innings by Hardik Pandya. Saim Ayub returned to the pavilion in the next over after scoring six runs, while captain Salman Ali Agha was also dismissed early for four runs. Babar Azam managed only five runs before getting out. Usman Khan was the top scorer for Pakistan with 44 runs.

Ahead of the match, much attention was focused on the toss after the Indian captain had hinted at a surprise regarding a handshake, but once again there was no handshake between the two captains after the toss.

Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha opened the bowling, and India lost an early wicket when Abhishek Sharma was caught by Shaheen Shah Afridi. Ishan Kishan played a key role in India’s innings with a score of 77 runs, while Tilak Varma made 25. Hardik Pandya was dismissed on the first ball without scoring. Suryakumar Yadav scored 32 runs, and Shivam Dube added 27 before being run out.

For Pakistan, Saim Ayub took three wickets, while Salman Ali Agha, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Usman Tariq claimed one wicket each.
