In Indian family in Sharjah is facing a financial crisis as its sole breadwinner is stranded in India. Several governments have suspended flight operations to prevent the spread of coronavirus pandemic. Numerous travelers are stuck in different countries and they are hoping to return to their homes soon. Sephali Paningrahi lives with her two daughters in Al Nahda. She told the international news source that they are running out of money. She said, “My husband left his credit cards in the office locker and took the key with him when he left for India hoping to return after four days,” “Who would have thought he will get stranded. We have almost exhausted whatever cash we had and are down to our last dirhams. Unfortunately, my husband cannot send money from India as he is under lockdown in a Mumbai neighborhood which has been declared a red zone (high-risk area) by the government,” She added, “My younger daughter who studies in grade eight has got an ultimatum from school. They have threatened to remove her from the E-learning platform if I don’t pay her fees immediately. Furthermore, Panigrahi said that her husband is a diabetic patient. “He was due to return in March. He is diabetic and also suffers from asthma. The medicine prescribed to him is not available in the local market. We are very worried about his health,” She also said that she has to pay her dues. “We are also getting calls from banks asking us to clear out dues,” Sources said that UAE residents stranded in other countries will be able to come back from June 1. They will be brought back under certain criteria. Paningrahi said that her husband’s ICA application has not been approved. She also said that her husband had gone to India to drop off his father on March 15. She said,
