90s nostalgia “Mario bros.” creator to receive Japan’s highest honor

The creator of “Mario Bros.” game which was immensely popular among 90s kids around the world as well as in Pakistan too, has secured one of the highest honor award of Japan.

The Japanese government will honor Shigeru Miyamoto creator of “Mario Bros.” and “The Legend of Zelda” the Person of Cultural Merit on the eve of Japan’s Culture Day which will be celebrated on November 3rd in Japan.

In the video game Industry Miyamoto is the first person who will receive this honor and this award is the highest honor a person in a creative field can receive in Japan.

While talking to international news channel Shigeru Miyamoto said “The video games I’ve been involved in developing could not have been made by a single person, so I’m very humbled to receive this honor as an individual.”

66 years old Japanese video game creator Miyamoto had started his career as game designer and producer at Nintendo in 1977.

He is the creator of some of the most commended and best-selling game franchises, such as Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Star Fox, F-Zero, and Donkey Kong.

Shigeru Miyamoto’s creation Mario bros. is one of the bestselling games of all time, with more than 40 million physical copies.

The first game of Mario franchise, Super Mario Bros. was released in Japan in 1985 for the Famicom, and in North America and Europe for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

The Music and the sound effects of the game have been designed by Nintendo sound designer Koji Kondo, who wrote the six-track score for Super Mario Bros., as well as gave all the sound effects.
