WeChat users group files lawsuit against US President Trump

Application WeChat users group is filing a case against Trump for his order of banning transactions with the app. However, the group is not affiliated with WeChat or its owner but wants to stop Trump’s order.

The group believes that the US President’s decision is unconstitutional as it violates users’ right to freedom of speech.

“It is the primary app Chinese-speakers in the U.S. use to participate in social life by connecting with loved ones, sharing special moments, arguing ideas, receiving up-to-the-minute news, and participating in political discussions and advocacy. It has become essential to the conduct of daily life for its users, many of whom regularly spend hours each day on the app.”

It is pertinent to mention here that earlier in August, US President Donald Trump signed executive orders according to which the US firms must stop doing business with TikTok and WeChat within 45 days.
