Sony’s current PS4 console already has many accessibility settings which include text to speech, inverting colors, custom button assignments etc.

In the latest PS5, Sony offers a voice dictation feature, along with button assignments, closed captions and options to hear on-screen text, or have text messages spoken out loud to other in-network members.

The new features support multiple languages globally and allows manual color correction to adjust color.

Additionally, players will be able to reduce or disable the force of haptic feedback and adaptive triggers on the DualSense wireless controller.

Sony Interactive Entertainment established ABLE@PlayStation for its employees earlier this year. It is described as “an accessibility and all abled inclusion-focused employee network.”

The company states that ABLE was built in order to ensure accessibility and disability inclusion for its employees as well as the community. The network of employees is also focused on emotional health awareness and supporting the fight against chronic illnesses.

The PS5 console is said to release on 12th November in the U.S., Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea. The release date for the rest of the world is 19th November.
