Pakistani scientists develop software that can detect COVID-19 within a minute

Science Diplomacy Pakistan, a division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, tweeted on Saturday that Pakistani scientists have made software based on artificial intelligence that detects coronavirus in under a minute.

According to the details, ‘COV-RAID’ has an accuracy of more than 90% that can serve as a cost-effective and universally accessible diagnostic tool.

The Science Diplomacy Pakistan has congratulated the National Electronics Complex of Pakistan (NECOP) for the invention and praised the country’s scientists for their efforts in developing the tool.

On the other hand, a trial test of detecting coronavirus with chest X-rays using artificial intelligence has been done by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). NECOP was given permission for the trial test by the PEC.

However, a final test report has yet to be shared by PEC.
