Sad news for WhatsApp users as the app will not be working on certain devices from January 1.

As per the details, it will not work on older devices from next year. The makers have confirmed that those possessing smartphones with software older than iOS 9 or Android 4.0.3 will not be capable of using WhatsApp.

It means you will not be using the upgraded application if you have iPhone 4 or older Android versions.

According to a source, some users will be able to upgrade WhatsApp software to higher than iOS 9 or Android 4.0.3 to make sure they’re not impacted.

How to upgrade WhatsApp?

iPhone users can click on the setting. Then, they can click on General and then software update.

Android users can go to settings and click on ‘About phone’. You will be headed towards more settings depending on the device.

However, older devices will not be upgrading, so you will need to buy updated smartphones.
