Machenike, a Chinese company, has begun selling laptops equipped with Intel’s Arc Alchemist A730M discrete GPU.

However, Intel’s ‘large’ ACM-G10 GPU (although in one of its light variants) is the highlight of Machenike’s Dawn Discovery Edition 2022 gaming system, since it is the industry’s first laptop to integrate Intel’s full-fat gaming GPU.

Machenike’s Dawn Discovery Edition 2022 is a 16-inch laptop with a 2.5K resolution display and a 165Hz refresh rate, emphasizing the product’s role as a gaming device. The laptop features an Intel 14-core Core i7-12700H CPU, DDR5-4800 memory, and a PCIe 4.0-compatible M.2 SSD.

The Arc Alchemist A730M GPU, which has 24 Xe-HPG units (3072 FP32 stream processors) and 12GB of 14 GT/s GDDR6 memory coupled through a 192-bit interface, is the PC’s major feature.

Intel’s Arc Alchemist A730M discrete graphics processor is based on a scaled-down version of the ‘large’ ACM-G10 technology, thus it isn’t the company’s flagship mobile GPU. In the meanwhile, it’s less expensive and uses less power than the top-of-the-line Arc Alchemist A770M graphics chip (4096 FP32 stream processor, 256-bit memory interface, 16GB of GDDR6 SGRAM).

A Wi-Fi 6/6E adaptor, Thunderbolt 4 capability, and an 80 Whr battery that charges to 90% in two hours are among the features of Machenike’s Dawn Discovery Edition 2022 computer.

The Dawn Discovery Edition 2022 laptop from Machenike is reasonably priced, costing only $8599 (about $1,273) at JD.com. While Chinese costs are often cheaper than those in other countries, $1126 without VAT for a gaming notebook appears to be rather reasonable, especially given that we are dealing with a fairly modern computer.
