LG Electronics outlined progress toward future technologies, including 6G, during an industry conference, and showed off a prototype car built to connect into the metaverse.

Radio transmission and reception technology LG says may maximise frequency efficiency for 6G was one of the innovations showcased at the IEEE International Conference on Communications in South Korea.

LG claims that it can transmit and receive Terahertz data with the help of its power amplifier.

LG has also created a vehicle-to-everything smartphone platform and an AI chip for use in residential applications, in addition to its 6G technology.

LG also used the occasion to promote its Omnipod concept car, which was originally shown via a live webcast at CES 2022 and then physically unveiled in February at a local event in South Korea.

The vehicle is totally autonomous, according to LG, and features a “floor-to-ceiling meta-environment screen” that allows it to function as a house, workplace, or recording studio.

LG Electronics CTO Kim Byoung-hoon said: “Based on its advanced 6G and AI tech, LG will continue to strengthen its capabilities in various fields such as 6G communications, smart mobility, metaverse, and robotics to take the customer experience to new heights.”
