Ayn, the company behind the Odin Android handheld, is launching a new series of “very cheap” portable Windows gaming consoles (via Liliputing). The most affordable model starts at $299, which is $100 cheaper than the 64GB Steam Deck.

Ayn revealed the announcement via a YouTube video and a series of Instagram photos, showing us what to expect in terms of design, tech features, and cost. While the entry-level Loki Mini costs $299 and has 64GB of storage with an Intel Alder Lake U processor, the normal Loki handheld costs $499, $599, and $699 and includes an AMD Ryzen 5 6600U processor with three storage options: 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB. The Loki Max costs $799 and comes with an improved AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor and 512GB of storage.

If the amount of storage that comes with the gadget isn’t enough for you, you may be able to increase after you buy it. YouTuber Taki Udon discovered that each model may include swappable storage, which means you may be able to enhance your storage capacity if you run out (via Liliputing).

The Ayn Loki appears similar to the Switch-like Odin on the surface, but as Liliputing points out, it switches from a colourful set of buttons in an X, A, B, Y layout to a solid black or white scheme with the same Y, B, A, X arrangement as an Xbox controller. The gadget also has a USB-C connector and a headphone jack on the bottom.

According to another of Ayn’s Instagram postings, the Loki will be released tomorrow at 9:00 p.m. EST, and will most likely be available for purchase on the company’s website. Taki Udon also mentions that Odin owners may be able to obtain a discount on the Loki range, although it’s unknown how much Ayn will cost.
