According to the publication, the company is about to embark on one of its most ambitious product development cycles in history, with a flood of new products expected to hit the company between the fall of 2022 and the first half of 2023.
This year’s release will include four different iPhone 14 models, three different Apple Watch models, numerous Macs with M2 and M3 chips, Apple’s first mixed-reality headset, high-end and low-end iPads, updated AirPods Pro earbuds, a new HomePod, and an enhanced Apple TV.
The announcements made this week at WWDC gave us a sneak preview of what’s to come, including how the new hardware and software will interact.
Most noteworthy qualities
Starting with the iPhone, It is the most widely used smartphone worldwide.
The most noticeable new feature is the redesigned lock screen, which was originally demonstrated before iOS 16 was made public.
An always-on display will be a feature of the iPhone 14 Pro variants, and the company has been developing the lock screen interface for a number of years.
The iPhone 14 Pro will have the ability to display widgets that show weather, calendars, stock prices, activities, and other information while the screen is at a low brightness and frame rate.
Also like the Apple Watch, there will be a setting that allows users to hide sensitive information from the lock screen.
Among the features of the iPhone 14 Pro are a significantly better selfie camera, a new rear-facing camera system with a 48-megapixel sensor, thinner bezels, a faster A16 CPU, a pill-shaped cutout for Face ID, and a camera with a hole-punch design.
The non-Pro iPhone 14 versions, codenamed D27 and D28, won’t be as well received as the Pro phones, D73 and D74.
For the entry-level phones, the 5.4-inch tiny will be replaced by a 6.7-inch model that has the same A15 CPU as the iPhone 13.
This year’s new iPhones will still use lightning to recharge the battery, but in 2023, USB-C is projected to become the industry standard.
Regarding USB-C, the publication’s report stated that there will be a new low-end iPad with an A14 CPU and 5G connection.

New iPads from Apple
Stage Manager-capable 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPads with M2 CPUs are anticipated from Apple later this year. Their code names are J617 and J620.
Apple will be able to boast that it has five different iPads that work with its new interface rather than just the current three! (the current M1 iPad Pros and iPad Air).
At WWDC, WatchOS 9 was unveiled
This year’s WWDC also saw the introduction of WatchOS 9. That is unmistakably a preview of what the Apple Watch Series 8 will offer this fall.
According to the source, Apple is developing three new models: a less expensive SE, a more conventional Series 8, and a variant suitable for extreme sports.
Additionally, it said that “anyone hoping for a faster chip in this year’s Apple Watch will be dissatisfied. According to what I’ve been told, the S8 chip will have the same specifications as the S7, which was functionally and aesthetically similar to the S6. The models for the following year, however, are anticipated to include a totally new CPU.”
Apple will release an iPad with a screen between 14 and 15 inches in the coming year or two.
The SE will have a smaller screen than the Series 7 model, which will have a larger one.
Around 2020, a newer S8 chip in the Series 8 could take the place of the S5 chip in the current SE.
It is anticipated that the Apple Watch Series 3 will be phased out in the fall as a result of the most recent software update.
As a result, the current SE might transition into the entry-level model and the new SE might advance to the mid-tier position.
In watchOS, exercise monitoring has undergone a significant upgrade.
With multisport workouts, the watch can quickly transition between tracking swimming, biking, and running as well as tracking elevation, training zones, and new running metrics.
All of these characteristics appear to be quite pertinent for an extreme sports watch.
HomePod
The report claimed that while a new HomePod isn’t anticipated until next year, there are still some enjoyable improvements for the Apple TV and HomePod in the pipeline, even though they weren’t announced at Apple’s developer conference.
