The popular short video platform TikTok is always adding new features that will bring its users closer together. BookTok is one of the most recent steps the company has taken in this direction.

BookTok is a subculture of the app TikTok. It was announced on July 17th, which is two months ago.

This function was intended for TikTok users who love to read and want to share it. This book section has over 77 billion views and is anticipated to grow.

Since the feature is popular, app developers are making it more user-friendly. Penguin Random House, a US-based publishing house, has joined the platform.

TikTok launched a tool that allows users to cite any book from the publishing firm in their submitted content. It works like a tag, but exclusively for US and UK users.

User-tagged books appear above the caption. Once the tag is tapped, the user is sent to a page that includes the book’s category, length, and summary. If another user marked the same book, they could see it too.

BookTok users aren’t required to save the entire video. In the past, the complete video had to be saved to view later, but now, TikTok users, especially BookTok users, can save only the title of that shared book and won’t have to watch the whole video to remember why they saved it. The “to read” list is located near the saved videos option.

It’s just as easy to use as it sounds. All a user has to do is tap “add link” before posting a video, search for the book they want to tag, and tap “add” on the link for that book.
