Mozilla has released Firefox 24, which includes a number of enhancements meant to facilitate work and save time.

Version 105 of the browser will include five new features, one of which is an enhanced printing interface that would allow users to print the current page more simply, which could be useful for businesses sending specific emails rather than full threads.

To compete with other browsers like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, Mozilla has also enhanced trackpad usability. Users on Windows can now navigate between page histories by swiping with two fingers instead of using the back and forward buttons.

Firefox now supports partitioned service workers in third-party contexts and is compliant with the User Timing L3 specification. It is also two times faster at searching for individual items in long lists.

While every other browser appears to be built on the open-source Chromium project, Firefox claims that utilizing its own Quantum browser engine enables it to “guarantee your data is handled with respect and kept private.” An article on Mozilla’s website says that one of the benefits of using Firefox is that it automatically blocks third-party tracking cookies, crypto mining scripts, and social trackers.

Firefox now handles low-memory situations better in Windows and Linux, and performs better when memory is limited.

Mac users will experience improved trackpad usage with less diagonal scrolling.

Firefox 105 is available for Windows 7, macOS 10.12 Sierra, and suitable Linux PCs. Firefox’s website lists system requirements. Version 105 for mobile devices focuses on stability and technical improvements with fewer feature releases.
