Twitter CEO, Elon Musk decided to raise the price of Twitter Blue in order to prevent the company from losing money. On the other hand, it’s possible that he has other strategies up his sleeve to turn the social networking platform into a viable business, such as compelling members to submit their data.

The fact that this goes against the criteria set forth by Apple for the App Store raises concerns not only for existing users but also for iPhone users.

Details reveal that you’ll see a full-screen tracking message that you’ll have to accept if you want to keep using the microblogging service. At the moment, Twitter, Facebook, and Google all provide users the option to opt out of being tracked, but this won’t be the case for much longer.

In the beginning, only one percent of users in the United States will be affected by this change so that we can gauge their reaction. The only way to protect one’s privacy from being invaded in this manner will be to pay the monthly subscription fee for Twitter Blue, which is either $8 or $11 for iPhone users.

As was already mentioned, Twitter is going to start mandating that its users give it access to their data. It is yet unknown how Apple will respond to this breach of its terms and conditions.
