Samsung will reportedly bring its TV Plus streaming app to TVs from other manufacturers. According to a report, the tech giant is likely to add its streaming app to TCL TVs.

In 2015, the company launched TV Plus, a free, ad-supported streaming service that comes pre-installed on modern Samsung TVs.

The service, similar to a regular TV service, allows customers to flip between a library of channels.

Furthermore, the service provides a wide choice of local and national news channels, as well as Samsung-created channels such as Ride or Drive and The Movie Hub.

TV Plus currently includes 220 channels in the United States and around 1,600 channels spread across 24 countries.

A source informed Roettgers that although the business has looked into the prospect of leasing individual channels to other TV manufacturers, these discussions “don’t seem to have gone anywhere.”

As a result, the IT behemoth has shifted gears to provide the full TV Plus application to other manufacturers.

“Over the years, Samsung has been expanding the reach of TV Plus, and made the service available on Galaxy devices, the web, and even on select Family Hub refrigerator models,” according to the report.

In August last year, the company said that viewership on TV Plus had climbed by 100% over the 2021 year, with 3 billion hours of streaming globally.
