T-Mobile (TMUS.O), a US telecom provider, announced on Thursday that it was looking into a data breach that may have affected 37 million accounts.

The business said that it discovered malicious activity on January 5 and stopped it in a day and that no sensitive data, including financial information, was compromised.

Nevertheless, some fundamental client data was gathered, including name, billing address, email, and phone number. said T-Mobile.

“Our investigation is still ongoing, but the malicious activity appears to be fully contained at this time, and there is currently no evidence that the bad actor was able to breach or compromise our systems or our network,” the company said, adding it had begun notifying impacted customers.

In after-hours trading, the company’s shares decreased by 2%.
