Samsung Galaxy S23 & S23 Plus
The Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus feature a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels (FHD+), a refresh rate of 48–120 Hz, and a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects the centered punch-hole screen, which can play HDR10+ content.
Both devices’ panels have a peak brightness of up to 1,750 nits. The sole difference is that the S23’s display is 6.1 inches rather than 6.6 inches on the S23 Plus.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset for Galaxy devices powers the devices. This chip is coupled with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage (UFS 3.1 for the 128GB variant).
On the software front, they launched One UI 5.1, which is based on Android 13. They include a variety of connectivity choices, including 5G, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, GNSS, NFC, UWB (only on the Plus version), and USB 3.2 (Type-C).
The smartphones come with a triple camera system on the back and a front-facing camera with a resolution of 12 MP. The rear camera setup consists of a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor with auto-focus capability, and a 12MP telephoto sensor with a 3x optical zoom lens and OIS.
The phones are dust- and water-resistant, with an IP68 rating. They have dual stereo speakers that enable Dolby Atmos and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 is powered by a 3,900 mAh battery, while the Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus is powered by a 4,700 mAh battery. The vanilla model only supports 25 W of wired charging, whereas the plus model allows up to 45 W of wired charging. In any case, both devices offer 15W wireless charging.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus start at $799.99 and $999.99, respectively, in the United States. They are available in memory options of 8 GB + 256 GB and 8 GB + 512 GB. The vanilla version is also available in 8GB and 128GB capacities.
The handsets are available in Phantom Black, Green, Cream, and Lavender colors. They are currently available for pre-order and will be ready for purchase on February 17.
