Twitter has laid off at least 200 employees, or nearly 10% of its workforce, according to the report, in its latest round of layoffs since Elon Musk took over the microblogging service in October.
According to the report, the layoffs on Saturday night affected product managers, data scientists, and engineers who worked on machine learning and site stability, which helps keep Twitter’s different functions up.
Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the media.
According to Musk last month, the firm has approximately 2,300 active employees.
The latest layoffs follow a huge layoff in early November when Musk laid off approximately 3,700 employees as part of a cost-cutting strategy after acquiring the firm for $44 billion.
In November, Musk stated that the service was seeing a “huge reduction in revenue” as advertisers reduced spending due to concerns over content filtering.
Twitter has lately begun sharing ad revenue with some of its content providers.
The Information reported earlier in the day that the social media network laid off scores of employees on Saturday in order to offset a drop in revenue.
