Nothing Phone (1) is currently undergoing a software update. It’s the first one since the release of Nothing OS 1.5’s stable build, which brought Android 13 to the Phone (1).

Nothing OS 1.5.3 is the name of the new build, which began rolling out today as a 91MB over-the-air download.

It improves app loading times and battery life thanks to a new memory management algorithm that decreases program restart times by more than 35% and lowers CPU use.

Support for manually adding games to Game Mode is also included, as are better animations, an “improved fingerprint transition between the lock screen and AOD,” new wallpapers, and improved system stability.

Nothing’s Future Ear (2) truly wireless earbuds, which will be introduced next week, are also supported.

There are also a lot of bug fixes. Besides the basic ones, solutions for odd Night Light mode appearances, glyph lights not showing for incoming WhatsApp calls, freezes during YouTube video playback, weather data not showing in the Quick Look widget, and the charging prompt flashing on the AOD interface have been highlighted.
