Twitter will raise character limit for tweets to 10,000: Elon Musk
Elon Musk, CEO of Twitter, announced on Monday that the microblogging platform will “soon” expand “longform tweets” to 10,000 characters.
“The dev community and I were wondering if you could add code blocks to tweets,” questioned YouTuber A@ThePrimeagen, who broadcasts coding-related videos.
Musk responded: “As an attachment? How many chars? We are extending longform tweets to 10k soon.”
Numerous users responded to the CEO of Twitter’s post.
According to one user, “You’re a crazy man lmao,” another commented, “!! Wow! That’s really good news. Actual microblogging!”
Blue subscribers in the United States can now write extended tweets of up to 4,000 characters on the platform, the firm revealed last month.
Only Blue subscribers can send longer tweets, but anybody can read, comment, retweet, and quote them.
Tweets were previously limited to 280 characters, which still applies to non-subscribers.
Meanwhile, Musk has stated that the microblogging site is “spinning up subscriptions” in order for individuals to “charge” their followers for specific content.
