The instant messaging software has offered group managers additional power with this new update, bringing the version up to 23.5.0.74, according to WaBetaInfo.

WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature that will allow group admins to approve new member requests. This new update is currently only available to beta testers.

“Group admins can manage membership approval by manually approving or rejecting requests from anyone who wishes to join by toggling this option.” According to the app tracking website.

The latest update can be found in the group settings area. Those who want to join the group will be approved by a group administrator once the option is activated.

“When new members want to join the group and this option is enabled, group admins can review them by opening ‘Pending Participants” within the group info screen or tapping the in-chat banner,” said WaBetaInfo.

With this feature, administrators can verify that the appropriate persons are included even if they join via an invite link.
