The previously leaked Oppo A79 is now officially confirmed. It’s equipped with the Dimensity 6020 SoC and comes with Android 13-based ColorOS 13.1 pre-installed. The phone features 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, expandable up to 1TB using a microSD card.

The Oppo A79 features a 6.72-inch 90Hz FullHD+ LCD with Panda Glass safeguarding. With a pixel density of 391 ppi and a peak brightness of 680 nits, the display is promoted as a sunlight display, ensuring visibility even in bright sunlight. Additionally, the screen holds Widevine L1 certification, enabling 1080p video streaming on Amazon Prime and Netflix.

The smartphone, driven by the Dimensity 6020 chipset, features a triple-camera setup. This includes a 50MP primary camera (Samsung ISOCELL JN1 50MP), a 2MP depth sensor (Omnivision OV02B1B), and an 8MP selfie camera. Powering the device is a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 33W wired charging.

Other notable features of the Oppo A79 comprise a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 5G connectivity, an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance, USB-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device is equipped with dual stereo speakers and incorporates an Ultra Volume Mode, which allows the volume to exceed 100%, reaching up to 300% for speakers and 200% for earpiece calls.

The Oppo A79 is available in two color options: Mystery Black and Glowing Green, with the Glowing Green variant featuring what Oppo describes as a Glowing Feather Design. It is priced at INR 19,999 (approximately $240/€225) and can be purchased in India through Oppo’s official Indian website, as well as on Flipkart, Amazon.in, and various other retail stores.
