X, formerly known as Twitter, has introduced two new subscription levels in addition to the existing ones. These additions complement the existing $8/month Premium subscription, now positioned as the middle option.

Basic

The least expensive X subscription, now called Basic and priced at $3/month, offers the ability to edit posts, create longer posts and extended videos, undo posts, access Reader for distraction-free reading of longer posts, background video playback, video downloads, and a slight increase in reply interactions.

Additionally, you can use SMS two-factor authentication, and your direct messages (DMs) benefit from encryption. You can also personalize your experience by changing app icons, creating bookmark folders, customizing navigation and theme settings, showcasing your top posts in a dedicated profile tab, and hiding your likes and subscriptions.

However, it’s worth noting that the Basic tier does not include the sought-after checkmark or ID verification.

Premium

The Premium subscription, priced at $8 per month, includes everything from the Basic tier and takes it a step further by reducing ads by 50% in both the ‘For You’ and ‘Following’ sections. It also offers an enhanced reply boost, the much-desired checkmark (with the choice to hide it if preferred), and ID verification.

Additionally, it provides access to the Creator Hub, allowing you to generate income from your posts and receive financial support from your followers’ subscriptions. You’ll also enjoy access to analytics, as well as the benefits of X Pro and Media Studio.
