Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Technology is launching the ‘Smartphone for All‘ project, allowing people to acquire smartphones through simple installment plans, especially considering rising inflation. This initiative aims to promote responsible financial practices and increase access to mobile phones for those who find it challenging to pay a large sum upfront.

According to the IT minister, telecom companies can provide citizens with smartphones through leasing plans, expanding the benefits of mobile broadband.

With the upcoming launch of smartphone installment plans, all people in Pakistan will have smartphone phones and the move aims to boost the economy, ensuring the use of e-commerce.

With the launch of a ground-breaking plan, GSMA SmartPhone for All Scheme will empower the common man to get smartphones worth Rs10,000 to Rs100,000 on easy installment. The payment duration will be from 3-12 months.

Citizens will valid ID cards will be able to get their hands on smartphones under this scheme. Students, professionals, and individuals with low incomes will be able to get mobile phones under the plan.

As per the proposed plan, Pakistanis will be able to get smartphones on interest-free installments by making a minimum of 20 percent down payment.
