Now, Instagram has introduced its own reel scheduler, eliminating the need for external apps. You can set your reels to upload at a specified time directly within the Instagram app.

For effective social media growth and engagement, timely content delivery is crucial. Scheduling allows you to plan your content in advance, so you can concentrate on creating rather than worrying about posting your reels.

Switch Instagram account to Creator

The Reel Scheduler is only available to users who have a creator account on Instagram. If you don’t have it, you can switch your personal profile to a creator account at any time. Here is what you need to do:

Open the Instagram app and access your profile Tongue. Simply click on your profile picture icon in the lower right corner.

Press now Edit profile under your biography, then click Switch to professional account option. Go to Menu >> Settings >> Account and search the same option.

Click on Continue button to skip the intro slides. After that, you will be asked to choose a Category for your account. Choose a category that best describes you and press the Done button.

You must now choose between the Creator account and the Business account. Select Creator and click Next Continue. Complete the rest of the steps to set up your new work account.

Create and Edit Instagram Reel

Next, you’ll need to create and edit your Instagram reel. Simply open the Instagram app and tap the plus (+) button at the top right. Choose the Reels option. Alternatively, you can go to the Reels section on your homepage and click on the Camera icon in the upper right corner.

This action will launch the Instagram camera. You can either record a new video for your reel or pick an existing one from your camera roll. Click the Next button to proceed. Then, complete the editing process by adding music, applying filters, adding text, etc. Once editing is finished, click the Next button again.

Moving on to the next screen, you have the option to add a caption and select a cover photo for your Instagram reel. To schedule your reel, go to the end and click on Advanced Settings.

In the new section called Schedule Content, turn on the toggle switch that reads Program this reel.

Following that, specify the date and time for your reel to be published. The time zone is determined by your mobile settings. Save the changes by clicking on the Set time button.

Upload Instagram Reel

Hit the back icon in the top left to go back to the previous screen. Now, click on the Schedule button. That’s all! Your Instagram Reel is now successfully scheduled and will be automatically posted at the designated time. Keep in mind that if you’ve activated cross-platform sharing, it won’t function with scheduling.
