YouTube Slows Down its Service for Users Using Ad Blockers
YouTube ramps up the fight against ad blockers. Crackdown triggers user backlash...
WhatsApp is broadening its range of features by adding polls to channels on Android in a recent beta update. In the beta version (2.24.2.11), certain testers now have the ability to generate polls in channels, mirroring the functionality already present in individual and group chats.
Within WhatsApp channel chats, users can access the polls option through the paperclip icon. This feature enables users to formulate questions with a maximum of 12 options. Despite the polls icon appearing in green, diverging from the typical yellow, the fundamental functionality remains unchanged, ensuring that votes remain anonymous.
WhatsApp to Launch Polls for Channels
Although not assured for every beta tester, the inclusion of this feature hints at a possible broader release down the line. Android beta users should watch for the appearance of the green polls icon to utilize this functionality. The precise schedule for making this feature accessible to all users is unclear, given that it is currently in the initial testing stage.
In another beta release (version 2.24.2.12), a bug has been addressed, reinstating the showcase of status update thumbnails adjacent to contact names for Android users. These advancements, combined with ongoing beta trials for enhanced text formatting and themes on Android, suggest an active phase for WhatsApp in early 2024. This underscores their dedication to involving users and providing eagerly anticipated updates.
