Apple Pencil 3 to feature latest ‘squeeze’ gesture
Apple, the tech giant, is gearing up to release highly anticipated new models of the Apple Pencil 3, iPad Air, and iPad Pro soon.
The upcoming tablets are expected to come with updated chipsets, larger displays, and thinner bezels. Additionally, Apple plans to introduce new accessories, including the Magic Keyboard with a larger trackpad and the Apple Pencil 3.
According to a report from gadget360, the Apple Pencil 3 will introduce a new “squeeze” gesture feature. This gesture is likely to be activated by pressing down on the pencil, allowing users to perform quick interactions like adding signatures, stickers, or text.
While the previous Apple Pencil 2 didn’t have this feature, evidence from the iPad 17.5 beta code suggests it will be present in the Apple Pencil 3.
The Apple Pencil 3 is rumored to have magnetically replaceable tips and support for the Find My app in case it’s lost. It’s expected to have a shorter body and a glossier finish compared to previous models, and will likely feature a USB Type-C charging port.
Last year, Apple introduced a new Apple Pencil with a matte finish and a flat edge that allowed it to magnetically attach to the side of the 10th-generation iPad.
As per a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the launch of the new Apple tablets has been delayed until May. The Apple Pencil 3, along with the M2-powered iPad Air and M3-powered iPad Pro models, are expected to be unveiled next month, ahead of Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June.
