ISLAMABAD: Pakistan generated $286.39 million in revenue from IT service exports in various countries during July 2024, marking the first month of the fiscal year 2024-25, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

This represents a 33.84% increase compared to the $213.98 million earned during the same period of the previous fiscal year (2023-24). The IT sector’s computer services exports saw a notable growth of 44.14%, rising from $172.68 million in July 2023 to $248.9 million in July 2024.

Within the computer services category, software consultancy services exports surged by 47.38%, growing from $58.43 million to $86.1 million.

However, hardware consultancy services exports declined by 30.68%, dropping from $0.44 million to $0.35 million. Repair and maintenance services experienced an astounding increase of 1302.14%, rising from $0.035 million to $0.49 million.

Exports of computer software services edged up by 1.08%, from $50.33 million to $50.87 million, while other computer services exports soared by 75.14%, from $63.45 million to $111.13 million.

Exports of information services also rose by 47.50%, growing from $0.30 million to $0.44 million. Specifically, information-related services increased by 12.34%, from $0.114 million to $0.128 million, while other information services climbed by 69.05%, from $0.186 million to $0.314 million.

On the other hand, telecommunications services exports fell by 9.62%, decreasing from $41 million to $37.05 million. Within this segment, call center services saw an increase of 33.61%, rising from $15.99 million to $21.37 million, while other telecommunication services exports dropped by 37.27%, from $25.01 million to $15.69 million.
