Vivo rolls out Android 15 before Google and Samsung

For the first time in history, Vivo has become the first brand, outside of Google’s Pixel and Samsung, to deliver the latest major Android update. Typically, Google or Samsung leads in rolling out updates, but Vivo announced the official release of Android 15 on September 30th. Some lucky users are already enjoying it.

While Google is still preparing to release Android 15 for the Pixel 9 series in mid-October, Samsung has yet to reveal its update schedule. Vivo, however, has taken the lead by launching Android 15 with their custom skin, Funtouch OS 15, on select devices, including the Vivo X100 series, Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, and iQOO 12.

Vivo users can explore exciting new features, including the AI-powered “Eraser” tool, which works similarly to Google’s Magic Eraser, easily removing unwanted objects from photos. A shadow removal tool further enhances precision in editing.

The Live Transcribe feature is another highlight, converting speech into text in real time, making it highly useful for those who are deaf or hard of hearing. Android 15 also introduces Private Space for managing personal apps and secure partial screen sharing.

With this update, Vivo users are ahead of the game, enjoying Android 15 before Pixel and Samsung users. Whether Vivo can maintain this lead in the future remains to be seen.
